More people joining 2Pint Software - bring in the experts
I started
with the announcement of a new CEO last week, and this week we are expanding
the team with more Top Gun material. So I am delighted to welcome Keith Garner
and Tim Mintner, both former Technical Program Manager and Developers for the
Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), to the team here at 2Pint Software.
Recently they both joined us from Tanium. Last time I worked with both of them
was many, many, many built PC’s ago, when I worked as a consultant at Microsoft
building a special NHS tailored version of BDD 2.5, and I interreacted
with the Microsoft BDD (soon to be MDT) team in Seattle, where both Tim and
Keith worked at the time.
But that
was a looooong time ago so lets not focus on that.
How it all started
Keith and
Tim bring close to 60 years of combined Microsoft experience with a focus on
automation of Windows deployment and development of solution accelerators. When
I saw Keith and Tim alongside Michael Niehaus at the great MMS conference last
year (they all worked for Tanium at the time), I thought to myself: “There sits
a combined century of knowledge in in solving complex
challenges across our technology space, and nobody is really interested to tap
into that knowledge. Crazy! Was it just because they worked for a company
taking “a slightly different angle – security”?!
As the week progressed, they looked more and more like the grumpy guys from the
Muppet show and I thought, those guys should work for us instead. Long story
short, we are pleased to
announce Keith and Tim do now, and instead of yelling at Kermit, we
have designated them to yell at all the newbies at 2Pint Software who don't
know how to configure a task sequence properly and to insult customers having
done a poor job in their internal IT work. Management by Statler and Waldorf we
call it!
Statler and Waldorf management style
We hope they will be keeping us on our toes with screams from the
balcony in true Muppet show style such as:
- "This whole system is a disaster. I'm surprised it hasn't crashed and
burned yet."
- "Well, that update just broke everything. Surprise, surprise."
- "This software is about as reliable as a used car salesman."
- "I wouldn't trust this network with a ten-foot Ethernet cable."
That’s
basically why we hired them! 😊 ‘Cause there is not much they can
help us and our customers with right? Ok, so maybe there is… so what are they
going to do be doing at 2Pint Software then?
Not just muppets now are they?
Keith will
be helping us to manage, simplify and automate the setup of all of our
deployment solutions. He will also be working on configuration and management
of our existing cross platform migration solution to make it even easier for
our customers to manage both Apple and Linux as well as Windows with our
toolset. Look out for some exciting updates in the coming months as Keith adds
his wizardry to our software! Welcome to Keith as the
Director of Product Management.
For over 20
years, Tim has worked in IT Operations as a developer and as an implementation consultant
with organizations ranging from a few hundred to several hundred thousand
computers, and he’s spoken internationally at Microsoft conferences on OS
Deployment and IT Management. In his recent role he was responsible for
overseeing the technical account management team, which provided support and
guidance to Tanium's enterprise customers. Tim worked closely with
customers to understand their business requirements and help them develop and
implement effective security and systems management strategies using Tanium's
platform. We are pleased to announce Tim as our CTO and
as he comes with such wealth of experience or as I like to say ‘master of all’
we look forward to him injecting that mastery into 2Pint Software.
Both of
them played a key role in ensuring customer success by collaborating with
Tanium's product development team to identify and prioritize new features and
enhancements that would better meet customer needs. At 2Pint Software Tim
and Keith will continue this great work to expand management capabilities and work closely with
our customers. Their expertise in the field of Windows deployment and
configuration management will be invaluable to 2Pint Software as we continue to
expand our product offerings and provide even more comprehensive solutions for
our customers.
With the addition of Keith Garner and Tim Mintner, 2Pint
Software is well-positioned to continue to innovate and lead in this important
area of IT.
Together,
Keith and Tim bring a unique blend of expertise and experience to 2Pint
Software. Their appointment is a clear signal of the company's commitment to
delivering innovative and comprehensive solutions for Windows deployment and to
expand our capabilities in the system management arena.
We are very
excited to see such highly respected individuals join forces with a leading
provider of software solutions, and we can expect great things from this
partnership. Welcome aboard guys!
