2Pint Software Monthly Roundup – July & August 2025 Edition
Welcome to the late summer edition of our blog roundup! Each month, we highlight our 2Pint Software team’s industry-leading insights into OS deployment, network and bandwidth optimization, and modern content delivery. In this edition we have news of Microsoft MVP renewals, a big OSD Day at TCSMUG for 2Pinters, and a summary of what our experts have been writing about. Let’s dive in!
As the summer rolled on, 2Pinters have been just as active as ever—sharing endpoint management insights and helping IT pros keep pace with important changes. Here’s what our people have been up to in the wider IT community.
To kick things off, at the start of July some key members of our engineering team were renewed as Microsoft MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals). Congratulations to Johan Arwidmark (22 years), Mike Terrill (10 years), and Gary Blok (2 years) 🏆🏆🏆!
In mid-July we had a solid showing of 2Pinters at the Twin Cities Systems Management User Group for OSD / Autopilot day. Gary Blok, Mike Terrill, Michael Niehaus and Johan Arwidmark were all there for the full day of highly anticipated sessions. Johan provided attendees with an overview of OSD, including building a lab, planning for Windows 10/11 deployment, and different deployment scenarios and methods. As a sponsor, 2Pint also had time to showcase our cutting edge deployment solution, DeployR. Mike Terrill shared his expertise in setting task sequence steps, including setting and checking variables, driver pack mapping, and advanced PowerShell scripting. Gary covered OSD Cloud and pointed to some great resources for setting task sequences.
A key Windows update caught Michael Niehaus's attention. Starting with the September 2025 security update, devices running Windows 11 (22H2+) will be able to install quality updates during the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE). Admins using Intune’s Enrollment Status Page (ESP) will soon get new controls for managing this behavior—opt in/out capability is expected with the Intune August service release. Niehaus noted that this is only being implemented for Autopilot v1. In related news, his blog, Out of Office Hours, hit a major milestone in August, receiving its 5 millionth view due to the steady flow of useful and timely info he provides to IT pros worldwide. Congratulations Niehaus !!! 🎉
Johan Arwidmark has been busy writing more of his practical guides and detailed instructions on deployment. To support those looking to implement Microsoft Connected Cache following GA release, he's posted a very timely step-by-step setup guide with plenty of screenshots for visual reference and scripts you can use (as he notes, the setup is a little different from the earlier preview release). He's also shared a script for enabling AutoLogon via registry (useful for a lab - not a production environment) and automation via an AutoUnattend.xml file to set up Windows 11.
Over the last couple of months, we've updated some key resources for 2Pint Software customers. Our documentation portal has been reorganized, and it now provides you with a single landing page where you can choose the software you are looking to manage, and the correct version. We're also in the process of updating the individual documentation pages, so you'll continue to see improvements.
We've also migrated away from our legacy knowledge base solution to an updated knowledge portal built with powerful Salesforce community tools. It's now easier to search, browse by topic, or navigate to a specific product. There are short FAQs and longer help articles.

Early August brought a sobering reminder that security is not limited to software and operating systems. The "ReVault" vulnerabilities reported by Talos allow attackers with only local user or physical access to modify the firmware, bypass login security (like biometrics, smart cards), or persist even after Windows is reinstalled.
That's it for this edition. Thanks for reading!
